Information about Alastair
I offer tutoring in Photography and Fine Art. I graduated with an MA in Photography from the Royal College of Art in 2008 and have since been working as a portrait photographer for the newspaper magazines including the Guardian Weekend, The Independent on Saturday Magazine, The Financial Times Magazine and Stella at The Telegraph. Alongside my commercial practice I have an established fine art practice, exhibiting regularly both in the UK and internationally.
I enjoy working with tutees to help them learn and develop their skills and confidence through every stage of the creative process from discussing preferred subject matter and shooting to post-production and printing. I am patient and very happy to make sure that you achieve the goals that you set out in your work whatever stage of development you are currently at.
Availability: Weekdays/Evenings/Weekends
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I have spent the last three years as an Associate Lecturer at Cambridge School of Art teaching photography to BA students. In this role I devised and delivered lectures on portraiture and still life which were followed by practical workshops in the studio to help students put the theory into practice.
I have also been a freelance photography and Photoshop tutor for several years.
