I have successfully taught GCSE and A Level Chemistry for over 26 years since graduating from Southampton University.

My teaching career has allowed me to teach in both the state and independent sector and more recently as Head of Department at an Independent girls boarding school in Winchester Hampshire.

I have in depth and up to date knowledge of the current OCR A and AQA A levels and Edexcel iGCSE and can teach all parts of the chemistry course. I can also help with exam technique in general.

I have tutored from home for many years and have now branched into online tutoring too, all students improve by 2 or 3 grades, however an A grade is not always guaranteed.

I feel that 1:1 tutoring builds confidence as well as academic knowledge and understanding, and from these stem success. Chemistry is essential for the study of medicine and veterinary medicine and it is often the one subject students find the most challenging. Not only is the content challenging, but the application of that content in exams requires great skill. All skills necessary to become a great independent learner at university.

Now more than ever with the global pandemic students are expected to become independent learners. From this September, I am now also available for those overseas or for a mature student looking to access higher education, having been a chemistry tutor on the Access to HE programme at Peter Symonds.
