Information about Rachel

Experienced and enthusiastic A-level Biology teacher!

I love teaching and tutoring and enjoy motivating students to achieve their full potential. I make creative and tailored resources which help students engage and learn the key points for all A-level Biology topics. I also include many past paper questions and topic question packs to ensure students are well prepared for the new linear specification.

All students tutored in 2018/2019 achieved grade A`s in their exams. All students tutored who took the October A level biology 2020 exams achieved grades A and A*. All students tutored in 2020/2021 achieved A*s in their TAGs.

I have taught A level Biology for the past 18 years in several different schools so therefore have the experience to understand the concepts students find difficult and how to tailor the sessions and explanations to ensure the student understands and makes maximum progress. I have successfully taught the new linear syllabus for AQA and OCR and ensure that calculations and specific exam technique is covered in each session. I design my own booklets which are tailored to the student/ class and the exam board being taught (AQA or OCR). I have always had excellent results across the ability range.

Rachel has been an amazing tutor and has really helped me to understand topics I was struggling with. She always explains things very clearly and is even willing to answers any quick questions I have outside of lesson time. she has made me feel more confident about biology and I have seen a significant improvement in my grades because of her. I would definitely recommend her!!!

I achieved an A* in Biology and I would not have even dreamed of getting it without her help. I really benefited from the tailored notes she made for each topic, which taught me a more efficient way to approach revision whilst hitting all the key points that examiners typically look for. This greatly increased my confidence in the subject after achieving a very disappointing C at my first attempt. She is incredibly patient which made it easy for me to tell her when I didn’t understand something fully. Rachel was always thoroughly prepared for our lessons and she was great at communicating with me if there was a change to her schedule which I appreciated a lot. I could not recommend Rachel enough!

Rachel is a fabulous teacher and her passion towards Biology is very noticeable through her teaching. She always has resources on hand, she is also very knowledgeable and is always ready to tackle what you throw at her! Rachel is very disciplined, punctual and easy to communicate with. My daughter has made lots of progress since her first lesson with Rachel in a very short period of time. We are extremely pleased that we have found Rachel.
