Hello! I am an enthusiastic Teacher of Music and music tutor based in Brighton. I am hugely passionate about many aspects of music history (with a particular love of Film Music) as well as being proficient in music theory, composition and performance. I received a first class honours degree in music at the University of Southampton, and went on to study a masters in musicology at Royal Holloway, University of London, where I graduated in 2016. I qualified from my PGCE in secondary music with a distinction, and have been teaching music at KS3, KS4 and A-level at a Sussex-based comprehensive school.

I specialize in teaching/tutoring GCSE and A-level music. The demands of the exam boards have been increasing year on year, and it is getting harder for pupils to achieve high grades in music. I can help pupils with understanding exactly what they need to do to improve their target grade, with a focus on the theory and essay-writing skills. Let me know which area you`re struggling with most, and we can knuckle down to help you improve in order to boost your overall grade.

Experience: I have taught individual music lessons, including piano lessons (teaching up to Grade 7 ABRSM), at a variety of levels for 10 years.

I have been teaching Secondary Music for the past two academic years, from Year 7 to A -level.

I have excellent essay-writing, critical thinking and analytical skills, and would be confident tutoring students up to A-level standard in both Music and English.
