In these uncertain times and concerns over Coronavirus I would like to offer GCSE and A Level students tutoring via phone or the internet as an alternative to meeting in person, using Zoom or Skype. The school where I was tutoring pupils after school have decided to cease this as so many teachers and pupils self-isolate. If your school closes or you are experiencing reduced teaching due to teachers being away I can offer sessions remotely so please get in touch.

I am a highy qualified, enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher with 21 years` English teaching experience gained at sixth-form and FE colleges. I enjoy one-to-one teaching/learning. Efficient and organised, my approach is to build on students` knowledge to achieve the best possible outcomes. I am now retired from teaching at a high achieving sixth-form college in West London and keen to assist individual students the highest grades possible. I am empathetic in my approach and love my subjects. I currently do after-school tutoring for GCSE English students at a school in Epsom where students certainly benefit from the one-to-one contact.

Availability: After school/college during term times and some holidays (half-terms for example). Can also do day times in the week if students are available during the day. Flexible approach.

Experience: Fully qualified with PGCE and have 21 years` experience of teaching English at Functional Skills, GCSE and A Level.
Subjects include English Language, English Language and Literature and Creative Writing. Experience with AQA, OCR and Edexcel Boards.
Have also been an A level examiner for 12 years. Also acted as a pastoral tutor for many years. Experienced in one-to-one tutoring at GCSE and A levels. Currently working at a secondary school in Epsom as an after-school tutor, assisting pupils with GCSE
