You are likely here because you are having a challenge with an area in the biological or biochemical field that you need help in mastering. Let us see if I we could be a match for me to assist you with my teaching and subject knowledge skill set.

Firstly my teaching specialty, demystifying the biological and botanical sciences for my students. My many many years of making the learning process fun for my students comes from both in one-on-one tutoring in our university teaching laboratories as well as university lecturing.

I am able to do this because my subject knowledge draws on a 25 year career in cutting edge academic research in the fields of plant biochemistry and related biological sciences in industry and universities. I hold three degrees in the biological sciences the last being a PhD in plant biochemistry for my research on a South African medicinal plant used by the Bushmen of the Kalahari, which I completed in 2020.

My love and knowledge of my subject translates into a relaxed teaching style which makes your learning process fun and light. My goal is always to find out what your level of understanding is and build up from there. Each tutoring session is tailored to your needs and we will determine which learning style you find most comfortable and what you wish to understand before we begin. I am also able to assist you with exam revision planning, the all-important past paper revision and examination technique.

Experience: I have tutored students in the biological life sciences for over 15 years both in one on one mentoring as well as lecturing. I have experience tutoring students from first foundational biology principles up to A-level, as well as University and adult teaching level.

I am a trained university lecturer and as such I have an extensive understanding of how to present information in a way that is clear and uncomplicated for my students. I am also therefor trained to recognise how different students absorb and take up information and I use this in all of my lessons to maximise your gain from our time spent in the lesson.
