Information about Edward
Highly experienced maths teacher living in the Bexley area specialising in GCSE and A Level Maths.
I have successfully carried out private tutoring for Year 7-13 students over a number of years the majority of whom have attended Bexley and Dartford Grammar Schools. Please see below for reference comments:
Reference 1: A teacher myself, I have known Ted in a professional capacity for twenty years. As a classroom teacher, he was well-respected by students and teachers alike, enjoying significant success with pupils of all ability groups. Following his retirement from Bexleyheath Academy, I was eager that Ted tutor my own son in preparation for his GCSE Maths. I know that my son enjoyed his methods, commitment and kind manner and as a direct result of this help, my sons GCSE grade was significantly higher than his school had predicted. To this end, I would wholeheartedly recommend Ted as a private tutor and intend to use him again for my daughter.
Reference 2: Ted tutored my daughter for A level maths. His calm and structured approach, combined with an obvious enthusiasm for the subject, gave her huge confidence. She actually enjoyed the lessons. His combination of teaching, working through past papers and addressing her weaknesses proved very successful. We found him to be reliable, punctual and easy to approach and I would not hesitate to recommend him to others.
In the wider school curriculum I accompanied many trips taking pupils to Mathematics conferences in London, day fly fishing trips to Penshurst, skiing trips to Italy, France and Austria, and French language trips to Paris and Boulogne. I helped with extra curricular activities in cricket, badminton and tennis.

Experience
My last job was at Bexleyheath School where I was required to plan, deliver and assess lessons to all abilities of pupils across all the age ranges and key stages. I consider the most important part of this procedure to be the feedback to pupils so that they can see the progress they are making and help them to understand how this can be improved.
I was particularly involved with delivering A level Mathematics, Pure, Mechanics and Statistics, to 6th form pupils and attended the Edexcel feedback meetings on behalf of the department. After school I often took extra revision or progress development classes and also individual tutoring to meet pupils specific needs.
As a member of a large department I was actively involved with curriculum development and the planning needed to introduce new initiatives as required by DfE or examination boards. I also acted as mentor to new and less experienced staff helping in particular with their subject knowledge and ways it may be delivered to different ability levels. I also carried lesson observations in order to feedback on development of the teaching and learning.
I have successfully carried out private tutoring for Year 7-13 students over a number of years the majority of whom have attended Bexley and Dartford Grammar Schools.
