I finished my masters+undergrad in Maths and Physics with a grade in the top 5% of the course. And now I’m a third year PhD student researching stability in model ecosystems and random matrices.
Eventually I’d like to be a lecturer and I use tutoring as a sort of practice for that, which means I`ll ask how my approach is working sometimes and can change my style to suit you. In my experience it’s far easier to get good at something if you enjoy it (or at least not not enjoy it) and I try to teach in that spirit, whatever the specific content.

A very punctual, reliable and courteous tutor who liaised regularly and was prepared. Unfortunately due to Covid tutoring was cut short but for the several months Lyle tutored we saw an immediate and significant improvement in Maths A level.

Lyle is an excellent tutor. He is passionate about his subject and provides a high degree of support, encouragement and knowledge. He puts the learner at ease right from the start. My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed his online maths lessons and has found the work interesting, challenging, in a good way, and fun.

We chose Lyle for A level physics tutoring and our son has really enjoyed his lessons with him. Lyle is friendly and knowledgeable, he makes the lessons enjoyable and uses good materials. Our son`s physics grades at school have improved since the lessons started so we`re really pleased with the result and can highly recommend Lyle.
