I currently work as a part-time Teaching Assistant in a local Secondary school mainly working with students aged 11-14.
Previously I worked at an Animal Management and Land Based College in Kent as a Learning Support Assistant. I supported SEN students in Functional Skills English and Maths and Skills for Life both one to one and as a group.
Before starting as a TA in 2015 I worked in the Public Sector for over 20 years in various roles including line management and mentoring.
Everyone learns in a different way,I`m a patient tutor and will adapt lessons to meet a students needs.
Availability: I am mainly available after school and early evening. There is a possibility of some day time sessions but this would depend on other commitments.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have a BA degree in History from the Open University where I studied part time as a mature student.
I also completed a TESOL certificate to teach English as a foreign language which included some teaching practice teaching English to groups of varied ages/nationalities and one to one.
Fairly recently I studied for a diploma from the LSJ in freelance and feature writing.
