Information about Millie
I am a 19 year old student studying Modern Languages and Culture at Durham University. I am an enthusiastic linguist and would love the opportunity to share my passion for languages whilst helping students to further their own learning.
I really believe I am a tutor who adapts their teaching methods to suit every individual and I would work hard to best transfer all my experience into providing the best possible learning platform for your child.
In my spare time I play netball for both my uni and country, as well as enjoying reading.
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: I have tutored and mentored many children, all with different needs and goals.
For instance, I worked in particular with one boy aiming to improve their French and Spanish GCSE. He wanted to work particularly on improving his spoken French and Spanish and so we met once a week to practice. This particular experience highlighted to me the importance of adapting lessons to each individual, and how rewarding it is to work 1 on 1 with someone to really see their confidence grow.
Additionally, I worked at a local primary school as a French teaching assistant. Working with younger children really helped me recognise the importance of interactivity and the best ways to keep children engaged and enthusiastic.
I have also been helping my cousins with their online work and so have become very used to using methods to deliver information via technology as opposed to face to face.
In addition to teaching, since 2016 I have volunteered coaching netball from ages 10-17 and so have a lot of experience working with children of all ages. I was also head girl at GHS which meant I became very capable of managing my time, improving my organisational skills and interacting with members of the school community and peers
