I am a trained physicist with a PhD in Physics and have been working as a senior software engineer. I have always tutored in my spare time. I tutor 11+, primary English and maths, KS1, and KS2 and KS3 maths, science and English, computer science, C++, Java, Excel and python. I specialise in 11+ and GCSE maths having taught these over many years with a high success rate. I have an enhanced DBS certificate and work with children at a local church as well as tutoring.

My strategy is to find any areas of weakness and work with the student to overcome these in a non-stressful and enjoyable way. I usually go through many examples so that the student will understand and master the topic.

Availability: Immediate. Currently available during the day and on Saturday afternoons.

I am an experienced tutor having over 30 years experience tutoring part-time a range of ages. I have a PhD from the University of Bristol and a BSc in physics from Imperial College, London. For the last 30 years I have worked in software engineering mainly in technical and scientific software. I have worked as a part time tutor which I enjoy.

I love working 1 to 1 with young people and am excited to see them learn and flourish. I have aways loved learning and as a result of my education am keen to pass on my enthusiasm for learning to others. I tutor GCSE MATHS and science, primary MATHS and English. I am familiar with the latest UK curriculum for all of these subjects. I also tutor 11+ and ISEB Common Entrance as well as KS1, KS2 and KS3. I have an enhanced DBS allowing me to work with young people. I only tutor online via Zoom or MS Teams and I feel this is effective as long as both tutee and tutor are fully prepared. I expect respect from my students and I love it when they engage fully and are interested. I will do my utmost to respect and support them.
