Hello, my name is Muriel and I am a French GCSE and A Level specialist. I was a French teacher in a high school and a sixth form college for well over 20 years and I have a great knowledge of curriculums and teaching programmes. My aim is to help my students make progress rapidly and sustainably in all areas of the French curriculum. However, I also believe that it is important for students to progress at their own pace as “one size does not fit all”!
I have an in-depth knowledge of both the films and the works of literature taught in French at A level, as well as curriculums and exam boards, notably AQA. I can teach exam techniques at both GCSE and A level. I can use a variety of teaching resources, including past papers, as well as teaching methods which take into consideration the needs of the individual student. I am very approachable, and I can explain difficult language and grammatical concepts with calm and patience, until the student feels at ease with the new notions and until the new knowledge is embedded.
I also have a lot of experience and skills teaching French to mature or older students. I can teach business as well as conversational French.

Availability: I am mostly available during the day and early evenings.

Experience: I have a BA (Hons) in both French and English. I hold a PGCE and QTS teaching qualifications. I have been teaching French for over 25 years, in schools and colleges around England. I have also taught privately on many occasions. I am very familiar with exam syllabuses at both GCSE and A Level.
