My name is Andy, and I am 28. I have been tutoring full-time since 2010. In that time I have tutored students from all around the world - from Ukraine to China Malaysia to the United States. I run two tuition agencies, one in the UK and one in the US. I was recently approached to write an academic textbook for a major publisher in Scotland (due for publication in December 2015).

As of July 2015, I have an 84% success rate of getting students into Oxbridge. I have also worked with students who have been accepted to Cornell, Yale, Columbia, amongst other institutions. I have also tutored students to success at both the Eton and Fettes Entrance exams.

What I offer as a tutor is a committed and passionate approach to learning. I am easy-going, and as a result, I excel at forming strong empathetic bonds with students. Good tutoring is a combination of an in-depth knowledge of the subject and good communication, and I am someone who has both. Mostly importantly, I really enjoy tutoring.

I enjoy empowering students to work differently than they are used to. I place the onus on them to develop a strong critical faculty. I try and foster an ability to research, reason, and to justify their own standpoints. This works well with those who aren`t suited to traditional classroom environments, as well as those who are looking to take their work to the next level. My lessons function like an Oxford tutorial - there`s simply no better way to learn effectively, efficiently, and to see an improved performance.

My lessons don`t end when the time is up I am contactable via email, SMS or Whatsapp outside of lesson time. Whenever I see a relevant video, newspaper article or infographic, I will send them across to the student using my preferred teaching platform. My students respond positively to seeing information in new ways.

I run a tutoring agency in the UK (based in Edinburgh), and one in the United States (based in Seattle).
