I am an enthusiastic tutor based in Halesowen who loves to teach.

I have been tutoring since December 2016 and have since decided to specialise in GCSE maths. Specialising in a subject rather than teaching everything I can allows me to supply an even higher subject knowledge and familiarity than I would otherwise. In the past I have also taught KS2 maths, 11+ entrance exams, physics, product design and piano but would now recommend approaching another tutor for these.

I have invested in my teaching equipment, so I am able to deliver excellent quality lessons both online and in person. All my teaching is done using a HP Spectre x360 laptop which is a top of the range convertible laptop which allows me to annotate documents with a pen as if I was writing on paper. My software allows me to edit PDFs so I can save any notes from each lesson and share them with the student if they request them. My online lessons are hosted via Zoom, which allows students to interact with the resources we use.

Students will typically be guided through exam-style questions. I don’t recommend going over individual topics and would instead recommend going over mixed topics as it is more efficient to learn a topic multiple times over a longer period rather than doing it all at once and part of the problem in an exam is recognising when a topic needs to be applied. When doing a worksheet on one topic, it is more obvious what needs to be applied.

I typically do not charge for cancellations as I understand that sometimes there are technical difficulties, illness or other unforeseen circumstances which cannot be avoided but I do prefer at least a couple of days’ notice if possible so that I can book another student in. I also offer a full refund on any lesson that you feel was not excellent quality, no questions asked.
