I tutor English Literature, English language and English as a second language.
Having graduated from Cambridge with a BA Honours Degree in English, I pursued tutoring. This is because I enjoy interacting with, and imparting knowledge to, young people. I strongly believe that students can release another aspect of their potential when
given the opportunity.
My tutoring approach is simple: the student tells me their struggles, we go through the learning styles and determine the best approach.
I hope that, upon reading my profile, you will consider me a suitable tutor for your child.

My daughter went from 7s in English Literature and English Language in midterm of Year 11 started having lessons from Mr Penge. She ended up achieving 9s in both at her GCSEs this year. We are so happy and grateful to Mr Penge. The tutor was incredibly effective in his teaching strategies and really understood how to help students secure the marks and improve their exam technique. He is an expert, always well prepared for his lessons and offers the right support which made such a difference. We would highly recommend him!

Penge tutored my son in English from Year 8 right through to his GCSEs, his performance improved enormously over that time, a consequence of the quality of teaching he received from Penge, culminating in excellent result. Penge`s professionalism is top-notch - always well-prepared and clearly invested in my son`s progress at every stage. Penge also brought real empathy to the tutoring, taking the time to understand my son and building his confidence along the way.
