My name is Hemali and I am a full time secondary school Maths Teacher.

I have been tutoring for 10 years in Maths for all years up to GCSE. I am very familiar with schemes of learning for Maths and what students need to learn and how to apply those skills to different questions.

I like to adapt my teaching style to suit the individual. Sessions with me will focus on topics you students find difficult and practice applying skills to exam questions. I will also focus on how we can see different topics in exam questions and talk about thought processes to answer questions.

I have been teaching for 4 years including exam classes up till Year 11. I am familiar with Foundation and Higher GCSE schemes of learning. I also make exam packs for my department with model solutions and mark schemes to ensure I am familiar with different methods and how to approach a question

Experience: Previously, I was the Maths subject representative leader at my college. My responsibilities ranged from giving presentations to prospective students about the progressive experience of studying mathematics at A-level, to assigning specific roles within my team to efficiently execute the task promptly.

Furthermore, I had the privilege of assisting my Maths teachers in college where I undertook differentiated starters and plenaries with AS students. I dedicated four hours each week to this work, while invariably finding a sensible balance around my own studies. This reinforced my knowledge and was a valuable experience.

My passion for teaching flourished during a work experience in a Summer School. I enjoyed assisting the teachers in a variety of subjects. I learnt that each child’s needs are different and loved getting to see the vast varying of strengths between them.

Work experience in Events Management allowed me to witness first-hand how the business sector works. I realised and recognised that all jobs served a valuable importance in ensuring the event ran smoothly, from managing staff to dealing with the financial aspects of the business. The joy of satisfied clients made the experience even more fulfilling. I learnt the importance of professional skills such as good communication, effective co-ordination and time management.
