Information about Nayim
Full-time academic tutor and Cambridge Mathematics graduate __ with a history of consistently raising my student`s scores by 2/3 grades AND getting into elite schools and universities (including Cambridge and Oxford).
I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA (high honours) in Mathematics, and I graduated with an MSc from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in Astrophysics and Cosmology.
I achieved A*s in my A-levels (Maths, Further Maths, Biology, Physics, Chemistry) with full marks in all my Maths and Further Maths modules. I achieved very high marks in both my undergraduate studies at Cambridge and in my MSc.
I began tutoring while at University of Cambridge and was awarded for my ability. I have now been working as a tutor for six years and lI love what I do. I enjoy building up a relationship with the families and students I work with and seeing a transformation in their confidence and their skills; there is nothing more rewarding than a student and family being happy with the results of our work together.
I have lived in Berlin, where I extensively tutored Mathematics, Physics, and Economics __ from IB to Master`s level. I also worked in industry as a software engineer during this time.
I have lived in Barcelona, where I extensively tutored Mathematics, Physics, Economics, and Architecture __ from EB (the European equivalent to GCSE) to Master`s level. I also worked in academia during this time, both achieving my research-based Master`s degree and later working in academia at the university.
I am now based in London, where I extensively tutor Mathematics and Physics, as well as many entrance examinations for both elite high schools and universities. I have also taught Mathematics and Further Mathematics in high school __ from Year 10s - Year 13s.
My experience as a private academic tutor has helped me hone the following skills: liaising with prospective students and building healthy relationships with their parents; coordinating lessons and devising tailored lesson plans for my students based on their abilities and curricula; bridging the gaps between my knowledge of courses in the UK and the courses being taught in Europe; understanding how best to engage and teach my students while also tracking their progress to ensure that they were best prepared for their exams.
My experience workings as a teacher has allowed me to: coordinate with the Head of Mathematics to structure the A-level curriculum for our sixth form __ which was my responsibility; tailor individual lessons for students who were either falling behind or excelling beyond expected; coordinate with different examination boards and examiners.
Some miscellaneous highlights:
I have consistently achieved improvements of 2 grades or more with my students.
I have experience in both assisting students with their curricula and creating new syllabi for my students.
I have worked: independently, in schools, in universities, and in industry.
I have taught at New York University (Abu Dhabi).
I have helped students get into Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial, UCL, KCL, Durham, Princeton, MIT, and Harvard.
I am a published academic.
Availability: All week: 9am-10pm
Willing to travel: 30 miles
Experience: I have over 6 years of tutoring and teaching experience.School-level experience in: GCSE, EB, IB, A-levels, Pre-U, STEP, MAT, AP tests.
I regularly help students achieve grade improvements of 2/3 grades or more. This year, my three stand-out students achieved improvements of U -> B, D -> A, and C -> A*.
I have also helped students pass their MAT and STEP entrance examinations, going on to read Mathematics at Oxford and Cambridge.
University Course Experience in: Calculus, Differential Methods, Dynamics and Relativity, Mechanics, Vectors and Matrices, Vector Calculus, Methods, Complex Methods, Variational Principles, Quantum Mechanics, Classical Dynamics, Cosmology, Statistical Physics, General Relativity
On the whole, I am a calm, yet focused and results driven tutor __ who also know how to engage my students and bring enjoyment to lessons. I enjoy seeing people displaying their true potential, so I work extremely hard in order to make sure this happens.
My approach to tutoring is to be highly organised and prepared. When I first meet a new tutee, I find out where the student stands with respect to the specification of their course; Then, I break down their strengths and weakness and devise a long-term plan to both tackle the weak-spots and improve the strengths.
