A current PhD student (Royal Holloway) based in Welwyn Garden City and London, researching English literature. I have a First Class Honours in English language and literature from the University of Leeds, an MPhil in renaissance literature from the University of Cambridge, and an MLitt (distinction) in creative writing from St. Andrews University. I have experience as an examiner for GCSE English so know first hand the English education system, how it is graded and what examiners are looking for. As a CELTA-qualified EFL teacher, I have 11 years of experience teaching English language at schools, universities and in private tutorials. 10 years experience planning and delivering specialised one-to-one tutorials for students of different backgrounds, in English literature and creative writing, from year 9 to university level. Versatile, highly-motivated and patient, tailoring lessons to the needs of the students, whatever level they are aiming for, and however they would like to improve. Hard-working and approachable, enjoying a lively classroom, with a good mixture of fun, laughter, and serious learning, where the aims of objectives of professionals are achieved.
