I have been a teacher in a range of secondary schools, including 2 schools specifically for special needs students for 25 years. Throughout my teaching career I have taught ICT, Business Studies, PSHE and Careers. As a subject teacher of examination subjects, and also as a head of department, I regularly had to provide one to one and group intervention for students who were falling behind.

Availability: I am pretty flexible when it comes to availability. We can organise a specific time that works for us both. It can be the same time each week, or it can be more flexible. I usually see clients weekly, but I can also do fortnightly if preferred.

Special needs Professional. I have experience of working in special needs schools with a range of moderate learning disabilities. I was also a SENCO within a large comprehensive.
Parent of two grown up children, my daughter has a first class degree at a top university and my son is disabled, so I have a lot of experience working with students who have special needs.

I am a Certified EMCC Global Life and Career Coach.

I work with young people supporting them with many of the things mentioned above. I am currently working with a young man with SEND, supporting him to pass his functional skills L2 English. Throughout our sessions I offer useful exam techniques and study skills. I have provided him with a structure/timetable for revision and have recommended relevant learning materials. I also make him accountable and challenge him if he does not complete the work set in the session. We meet weekly to review the independent work he has completed and I provide positive reinforcement to keep motivation high.
