Akshanaa

My name is Akshanaa and I’m currently a final year medical student. I thoroughly enjoy teaching chemistry, biology and maths.

While I don’t have any formal tutoring experiencing, I have experience teaching my neighbours and younger family members science and maths in the past 5 years. I would regard myself to be effective at helping my students understand the subject better as I feel passionate about the subjects myself. I hope to share what has helped me succeed so far in medical school as a final year medical student.

Overall, I would say my lesson style is very adaptable. I would run my lessons with my students best interests in mind, for example I can cover the curriculum in a chronological manner, or focus on problem areas first. I also make sure to run my lessons appropriate to my students age and ability.
I make sure to focus time on exam preparation, building up to the exams themselves. I would give some homework on the problems areas as well, making sure this occurs in an efficient manner as to help my student improve.

I have personal experience in working with OCR for chemistry and biology, and OCR + edexcel for maths. However I can adapt to other exam boards as there are only a few differences and I make sure to prepare myself with the exam boards beforehand.

Availability: General availability over the entire week including weekends. My availability could vary in 5 week blocks depending on my placements as a final year medical student. I give enough notice as soon as my own availabilities for that block is known (if a change is required but this isn’t always the case).
