Hi!
I am an experienced tutor with a PhD in Molecular Biology and a 1st Class Biology degree, both from the University of Nottingham and have a full DBS check. Over the last two years I have tutored over 5000 hours online.
I appreciate how hard both GCSEs and A-levels can be and like to motivate my students to achieve the best they possibly can. I like to split work into three sections: firstly, I come up with unique methods of ensuring the understanding of complex material; secondly, I help students come up with creative methods of remembering the material, and finally I like to provide help in both exam preparation and technique.

My daughter Tasha had Tara as her biology A level tutor for some of Yr 12 and all of Yr 13 and Tara truly made a massive difference. Tasha went from struggling with how to answer exam questions and so not doing particularly well in her sixth form exams to really doing very well having been shown exactly how to answer the biology exam questions by Tara. And this meant she really started to love the biology course, so much so that she has just started a biomedical science degree at university, having changed her mind from doing history. That is all thanks to Tara, I can`t recommend her highly enough.

I found Tara about a month before my daughter sat A level Biology, so there was a limited number of lessons we could fit in. Tara ran some very useful group exam technique seasons which really gave my daughter confidence before her exams. We also scheduled a 1:1 to focus on any last minute support. I’d highly recommend Tara and only wish we found her earlier.

Tara has been teaching my daughter for the past year in A level biology. Tara’s teaching methods have suited my daughter well, and the way Tara has explained things on a one-to-one basis has increased her confidence no end. A level biology is very content heavy, and at school there is insufficient time in the curriculum if you are struggling to keep up. Starting the lessons a year in advance enabled Tara very much to understand the weaknesses my daughter suffered and guide her to ways of overcoming struggles she faced with the course content. Tara taught her well how to approach questions in the exam that she struggled with or questions that would phase her, and how to gain the most marks. I very much recommend her teaching methods.
