Bonjour everyone, my name is Alix. I am a qualified French teacher (I have my PostGraduate Certificate in Education) who is offering French tuitions and classes.

Availability: evenings / Saturdays

Experience: My first teaching experience was as a private tutor for two chinese students at my university. In addition, I volunteered to teach French to immigrants in need of this. Some of them couldn`t even read in their own language. I tried a lot of different methods to teach them the alphabet. Some of them worked, some of them didn`t. It was sometimes very tough because even simple concepts couldn`t be understood.

In order to ensure that teaching was the right profession for me, I enrolled in the French assistants programme. This only confirmed my desire to pursue this career. I was able to gain experience and a real insight into planning, the impact of various teaching styles, classroom organisation, ….

I have now fulfilled my desire to become a teacher by engaging with the PGCE. I have gained considerable experience in second language acquisition, planning and teaching, pedagogy and delivering both challenging, creative and motivating French and Spanish lessons. Through my placements, I developed teaching materials, established clear goals for all learning activities, assigned and grade classwork and homework, I ensured the best use of classroom time, I collaborated with other teachers, professional staff and administrators. I have also been provided with an opportunity to develop a new language, that of German. I have been studying German whilst at university and I hope to be able to develop this further in the future.
I am an artistic person who likes to include this approach in all aspects of my work and would like to develop this further in a school. I believe that travel broadens the mind and I have been fortunate to travel, visiting family and friends across the globe.
Dynamic and sociable, I will try to pass on a wide range of French civilization and culture to my students.
