I have many years of teaching experience, delivering exemplary practice in the classroom and in 1:1 settings. I also achieved accreditation as an Advanced Skills Teacher in 2010. Having enjoyed over 25 years of teaching in a school, I now offer tutoring both online and in person, to support individuals with their studies. Quite simply, I can help!
Whether you wish to build on existing knowledge, require clarification with regard to exam questions or need advice about how to improve your explanations, we can work together to focus on these areas.
Extremely important to me, is that my students feel confident with all aspects of their subjects, and my tutoring approach is straightforward. Initially I listen, so that I fully understand what you need to focus on. Time is precious so the priority is for every one of our tutoring sessions to be purposeful.
Matching your preferred learning style is important; mind maps, revision tables, model exam answers and creating customised revision videos are just four examples of the resources I make available to support your progress.

Experience: I first joined the teaching profession in 1993 and have extensive experience at all Key Stages. I have delivered History and Sociology at GCSE and ‘A’ level, as well as both Geography and Philosophy and Ethics at Key Stage 4. I have held many managerial posts, including that of Head of Year, Head of History, Head of Sixth Form and an Assistant Headteacher, all involving strategic responsibility for teaching and learning alongside pastoral care.
