Information about Helen
My name is Helen and I have been a Maths teacher for 14 years. I have taught at all levels from KS3 to KS5 and I am currently working part time at a specialist Engineering college as lead for KS5 maths, in the coming months I am looking to transition into a full time tutor.
I have been tutoring part time for a number of years and have had students from foundation GCSE all the way through to Further Maths and preparation for STEP / MAT papers.
My tutoring style varies dependent on student needs. Being a classroom teacher for so long I can adapt easily and have a vast range of resources avaiallble. Many of my past students have been preparing for examinations and so my lessons are very much ran on areas students feel they need to work on but likewise if they are not sure I can prepare a series of lessons that will ensure they cover all they need to for a specific qualification.
I have an extensive curriculum and exam knowledge and work as a senior examiner for one of the major exam boards. I have marked GCSE and TVQ scri pts for approximately 4 years and have also been the lead examiner / lead assessment writer on a Mathematics paper.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Availability: Some weekday evening slots available and Saturday`s after 15:00.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I can offer KS3 tution to boost confidence and catch up sessions. I have a full current knowledge of the new 9-1 GCSE at both higher and foundation. At A Level I can tutor in A Level maths (pure and statistics), further maths, core maths and technical award unit 3 for engineering.
