Information about Rob
I am a Key Stage 2 teacher with 12 years experience and tutor for 2 years, 6 of those being in Year 6. I have been a SATs Marker/SATs Marking Team Leader for 3 years so I know all the ins and outs of SATs testing and how to get the best out of children in preparation for success in their Year 6 SATs. I also have experience in all other years of Key Stage 2. I am experienced at ensuring children meet and exceed the expected standard in all subjects. I also work as a Specialist Leader of Education across the city supporting children and schools in behaviour and curriculum leadership.
My teaching style is all about ensuring children have fun whilst learning, as I believe a child is at their most productive when they`re enjoying themselves and are engaged in what they`re being taught. Any child can learn if they`re being taught in the most engaging way for them and every child, regardless of their learning style, has a right to learn. With this in mind, I aim to make the learning relevant and break everything down into small, approachable chunks. I advocate children being in charge of their own learning - children in my class get involved in marking and target setting which develops independence and growth mindset. I love teaching, I love watching children learn and I enjoy the challenge of helping all children make outstanding progress.
