Amanda

Hi! I`m Amanda, a TEFL-qualified English, Spanish, and Portuguese tutor with 10 years` experience teaching both in-person and online. I am KS2 and GCSE English and Spanish exam marker and I specialise in Essay Writing, CV Writing, Editing, and Proofreading for higher levels of English.

I`m a native English speaker, having been born in London and raised in both the UK and US. At University, I studied Hispanic Studies, and spent my year abroad teaching English in a bi-lingual school in Almería, Andalucía. After graduating I moved to Paris to continue teaching and have recently moved to Glasgow to (hopefully) settle as an English teacher and French and Spanish tutor.

My classes are mainly student-led, each one tailored to suit my student(s), working with their abilities to enhance understanding and fluency in their target language so we can push to the next level together. The first lesson will normally consist of a general assessment where I can evaluate a suitable starting point and work towards a monthly, quarterly, or yearly goal.

10 years as an essay writing, proofreading, and editing consultant.

I now work full-time as a consultant and tutor. Due to the pandemic, most of my classes are now online but I can travel locally for in-person sessions.
