Information about Abigail
I hold a Master`s Degree in Environmental Management from University College London and a BA in Molecular Genetics at King`s College London. I was educated at the highly reputable Rugby School where I was head of house as a pupil.
I have worked as a medical research assistant to surgeons in private medical healthcare on Harley Street, London. Thereafter I sought a career change and trained as a primary school teacher through the Teach First programme. I have a proven track record of raising pupils` attainment. I have a genuine passion for developing young people`s educational attainment.
I also have experience working for the RSPB, where I taught conservation to young primary and secondary age pupils on the Rainham Marshes Nature Reserve. I have experience as a bee keeper, working alongside a number of `keepers in London. It was on this topic that I wrote my dissertation for my MA Environmental Management.
As a mother of a young child myself, I take a deep interest in the development of the young mind and I always offer careful guidance to bring out the best in my pupils.
Availability: I will be available at least three full days per week, most probably four days, and I would be available on a Saturday as well.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: As written above, I have a wide range of experiences in the educational and professional world. I have taught in challenging primary school settings in London, namely the Harris Academy Federation, and achieved outstanding results. I am currently employed at Bayards` Hill Primary School in Oxford. Having a strong academic background myself, I believe I am suited to developing the skills of pupils across the ability range.
As I have become a mother relatively recently I intend to step back from full time work for a period of time and thus I will available for tutoring with a good degree of flexitbility.
