Information about Matthew
I am passionate about teaching and believe that everyone has the ability to succeed with mathematics given the right support and encouragement. Offering this support and seeing students excel gives me great satisfaction. I am an easy-going person with an approachable manner and take pride in tutoring students to develop a solid understanding of mathematical principles.
I have a practical understanding of applying mathematics to a range of applications and I understand how important it is to have confidence with maths, no matter what a students future may hold.
Availability: Generally available throughout the week.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I completed my Electronic and Electrical Engineering degree in 2017 and have experience working as an Electronic Engineer. Throughout my time at university I had the opportunity to tutor students in lower years on a range of technical topics. I was also a committee member in the universities mountaineering club, where I gained experience teaching practical skills in a range of indoor and outdoor environments.
It was through these experiences that I realised I get a lot of fulfilment from teaching and decided it`s something I will continue pursuing. I have previously worked with the NCS as a programme leader and currently work with various schools as a DofE supervisor and assessor. I also work as a high ropes and rock climbing instructor and regularly interact with a range of young people.

Matt is an extremely patient tutor and my son really values the sessions he is having with him. Maths has always been his achilles` heel, but Matt breaks things down into simplistic terms and explains how they all fit back together - this is invaluable to someone who has little confidence in the subject. I would have no hesitation in recommending Matt to others.
