I completed my undergraduate degree at Roehampton University, gaining an honorary undergraduate degree in English Literature (2:1) and I went onto gain my PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) in Secondary English at Brunel University. During my time of study, I worked as a Teaching Assistant at a local Academy (Primary and Secondary phase) gaining valuable experience in a Primary and Secondary classroom.
As of right now, I am a full-time Secondary English Teacher and teach a range of classes from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4. I also have excellent and secure understanding of the existing and new school curriculum. I have been teaching at Secondary level for a number of years now and have full confidence and experience of teaching the National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 level and GCSE (new spec). I am also an examiner for AQA English Language and Ihave strong experience in understanding the requirements for what constitutes a high level answer.

Experience: As for my teaching experience, I have worked for a year and a half as a Teaching Assistant at both Primary and Secondary level. This enabled me to understand how both the Primary and Secondary curriculum works and what students are currently studying within the education framework. Under recent government changes, I have been trained and well-equipped to deal with the continuous changes to the statutory National Curriculum. Therefore, I have excellent knowledge of the traditional GCSE English qualification as well as the new GCSE Qualifications where students are being leveled against the new number grading system (9-1). This summer (August 2017), my success rate was 93% pass in English Literature and 85% in English Language for the new GCSE. I am also an examiner for AQA in which I have experience marking English language Paper 2 and have secure knowledge in what constitutes a high level answer.
