Information about Tariq
Hi!
My name is Tariq and I`m a third year dental student at the University of Birmingham (UoB).
Before studying dentistry, I graduated with a first-class honours in Biomedical Science at UoB. Of the total 20 modules I studied in Biomedical Science, I achieved 14 first-class honours (the rest were 2:1). The pharmacology-based dissertation that I wrote for my Biomedical Science degree also achieved a first-class honours. In the last year of my studies, I won the British Pharmacological Society Undergraduate Pharmacology Prize. This was based on my dissertation and my neuropharmacological studies.
I went to King Edward`s school, an independent school in Birmingham. I completed the International Baccalaureate (got 36/45, with near full marks in higher level Chemistry, Biology and Philosophy) and GCSEs (10A.A).
I have a large amount of experience teaching the sciences, particularly Biology. I taught GCSE Biology to younger pupils when I was at King Edward`s school and I self-organised Biomedical Science teaching sessions with colleagues who needed extra help. I also currently work as a part-time tutor at a local tuition centre, mainly teaching GCSE Biology/Maths.
If you`re struggling with any of the sciences, then I can help!
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: Carpe Diem Academy:
I am currently teaching GCSE/A Level/IB Maths, English and Science on a one to one basis as well as in small groups of 3/4 children. My teaching consists of going through prepared worksheets during the lesson to help students understand the core principles of the subject. I also set, mark and review homework as well as prepare worksheets for the next lesson.
Biomedical Science:
I taught fellow colleagues who were struggling with concepts in Biomedical Science. This covered all of the 20 modules that we studied and included neuroscience, pharmacology, bacteriology and cell biology.
King Edward`s School:
I volunteered as a GCSE Biology tutor for pupils who struggled with core Biology concepts.
