Information about Norah
I am currently in post at a comprehensive school in Sheffield, where I teach a wide variety of students from Year 7 to Year 13 with different backgrounds, attainment levels and aspirations. My teaching style is energetic and personable. I try to make lessons fun and use my own wacky sense of humour to bring content to life. I believe anyone can succeed in science and I aim to give students the tools they need to crack exam technique and think like an academic, so that they can progress to the next level of their education.
The focus of my tutoring lessons tends to be exam question practice. I normally discuss and agree the next session`s topic with the tutee and expect that they will work on their knowledge of that topic in their own time so that we can focus on exam technique and application in the session. I can also assist with gaps in knowledge and understanding; as a current teacher I have plenty of resources at my disposal.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have been teaching biology at GCSE and A Level for over 8 years and tutoring A Level Biology students for the last three years. All my tutees have gained the qualifications they needed to access their chosen university courses. I have experience of AQA A Level Biology, as well as the AQA GCSE sciences and Trilogy (Combined) sciences. I will consider accommodating students learning with other exam boards on a case-by-case basis.
DBS Check: Yes
