Information about Julie

I am a professional piano teacher providing tuition for children from beginner to grade 8. I teach piano in schools during the day and provide private tuition after school. My aim is to inspire enjoyment through music and develop all-round musicianship skills. I have two teaching qualifications - `Certificate of Teaching` (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) and `The Certificate of the Piano Teachers` Course` (European Piano Teachers` Association). I continue to work on developing my own playing skills further and attend master-classes and courses. I also like to keep my teaching skills up to date by attending various workshops and courses regularly and am currently doing an on-line course for piano teachers as part of my continued professional development". I am a keen amateur pianist who takes opportunity to perform in various piano groups in my spare time. I am a full member of the ISM (Incorporated Society of Musicians) and EPTA (European Piano Teachers Association) and the Regional Organiser for EPTA (Surrey).

Availability: I am available to teach privately after school or evenings during the week. I am offering the first lesson free for those that apply through Tutor Hunt and as I teach half-hour lessons, I have been asked to clarify (from Tutor Hunt) that this means the first half-hour free then after that, payment is required.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: I have been teaching piano in schools since 1999 working as a peripatetic piano teacher for Surrey Arts. I also teach privately. I enter pupils for exams & festivals and some have achieved high success. I organise pupils` concerts to give them an opportunity to perform should they wish to.
