Information about Seb
University of St Andrews graduate (2021). BSc Chemistry (First Class).
During my time at the University of St Andrews I also completed modules in Earth Science, Mathematics, Cell Biology and Molecular Biology (First and Second class honours in all these modules). I am very happy to talk about the University of St Andrews to anyone considering applying.
A Level: 1A* 3A`s (Biology, Chemistry, Maths, History). Additional A grade in `Science Perspectives`, Extended Project.
GCSE: 12A* (incl. Maths, Further Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
Friendly and patient approach. Lessons to be tailored to student`s needs. I am happy to familiarise myself with any exam board with which you are sitting your exams.
My favourite pastimes include golf, music, surfing and walking my dog.
Availability: I am available during the afternoon & evening Monday-Friday (2pm onwards) and will happily tutor on the weekend. Also potential for tutoring during the day mid-week but this will require prior arrangement.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I would consider myself a friendly and patient individual who is never dismissive when it comes to students asking questions. I am prepared to tailor my lessons and teaching style to the needs of the individual student. I have previously found frequent question setting and revision of challenging concepts/topics to be the most successful approach. I have over 600 hours of tutoring experience and currently have a 100% pass rate amongst private students. In the 2021/2022 academic year all my private students improved by at least a grade and two of my GCSE students improved from a grade 4 (approx. D grade) to a grade 8 (approx. A* grade).
DBS Check: Yes

We have found Seb to be friendly and approachable. He has a great knowledge of his subjects and has really encouraged our anxious son. Our son had realised he knows more than he thinks, in a 1:1 lesson its easier to explore answers and to give it a go without the fear of getting it wrong.

Our son really enjoys his sessions with Seb, makes maths easy to understand and challenges him enough to ensure progress. Thanks Seb
