Hi, I`m Clare and I`m a Spanish and English as a Foreign Language specialist with 12 years of experience. I have taught GCSE, A Levels and IELTS courses and having spent so much time living in Spain and Latin America my spoken Spanish is excellent. As a teacher I very much enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for languages and helping students gain confidence with examinations is a highly rewarding part of my job.
As a native English speaker with a TEFL qualification, I can confidently provide lessons to improve acquisition of the English language and work towards exams such as the IELTS. In addition, having spent so much time in Spanish speaking countries my acquisition of the Spanish language has been exceptional and having taught the language for more than 10 years I am extremely well-experienced. As English is my first language, I can explain and work through any difficulties with ease.
I offer flexible learning either online or in person around the Cheltenham/Gloucester/ Stroud area. Due to my experience with various exam boards, I am happy to work on GCSE/iGCSE and A Level courses and with culture being a prominent feature of the current exams, I offer plenty of cultural discussion and insight. Primary school learners and other secondary school students can enjoy varied and motivating lessons to consolidate or make a start with their language learning plus adults and businesses can benefit from personalised instruction, whether that be university applications, preparation for a move overseas or to impress in a business setting.

Experience: Once I started learning Spanish and French at school and travelling overseas I soon learnt how exciting it was to communicate with different people and explore new cultures. After studying Spanish, French and Business at university, my travels began in earnest. My time spent living, working and travelling in Spain, mainly Madrid, Barcelona and the Balearics, gave me an opportunity to appreciate the regional differences first hand and of course perfect my language skills. I then spent two years working in Mexico before starting work as a tour leader in Central and South America, which is when my love of all things Latin American began. The different accents, the food, the geography, the history and the music all made me feel the language and culture in a new way. Now, as a fully qualified teacher I enjoy sharing my experiences to enthuse and motivate others to acquire language skills alongside cultural awareness, whether that be for pleasure, work or examinations. began my teaching career in specialist English Language Academies in the UK, Spain and Vietnam, where I taught English to both adults and younger learners. In 2006 I moved back to the UK to complete my teaching training to teach Spanish and French in mainstream education. Since receiving my Qualified Teacher Status I have taught Spanish and French to students aged 8-18 in a variety of settings including an international school in Malaysia and an independent school in Hampshire. Most recently I have been working in Gloucestershire as Head of Languages in a secondary school and have been working towards my MA in Education.Contact this Tutor
