I am an outstanding science practitioner with over 15 years of teaching experience and currently serve as Head of Chemistry and Senior Science Teacher. I work in an Ofsted Outstanding school with a Progress 8 score of 1.28, placing it amongst the highest-performing schools nationally.

Throughout my career, I have taught across all secondary key stages (KS3–KS5), specialising in GCSE Biology, Chemistry and Physics, as well as A-Level Chemistry. My students consistently achieve outcomes significantly above the national average, with many exceeding their target grades by one or more grades. At A-Level, I have successfully supported students in securing places on highly competitive courses, including Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science, and STEM degrees at leading Russell Group universities.

Tutoring

With over 15 years of private tutoring experience, I have successfully supported students studying a wide range of specifications, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR A & B and international specifications.

My personalised approach enables students to develop confidence, deepen subject understanding, and achieve their academic goals. I have extensive experience helping students improve their examination performance, secure top grades, and gain entry to competitive university courses. Many of my tutees have gone on to study Medicine and other highly sought-after degree programmes at leading universities.

Specialist Examiner

I am an experienced Chemistry examiner with over 10 years of examining experience for OCR, having marked a broad range of AS and A-Level Chemistry papers.

This role provides me with valuable insight into how examinations are assessed and what examiners look for in high-scoring responses. I use this expertise to help students refine their exam technique, avoid common mistakes, and maximise marks. I have consistently received excellent feedback from OCR and am currently rated at an “Excellent Standard”.

University Education

I hold a Master of Science (MSci) degree in Chemistry from Imperial College London. During my studies, I completed a year-long research project specialising in organic chemical synthesis, developing advanced practical and analytical skills that continue to inform my teaching today.
