Hello, I`m Conor. I am a full-time teacher of Mathematics and Economics at an OFSTED Outstanding secondary school in South London, where I have been recognised as an Outstanding teacher. I currently lead the Business and Economics department and oversee Economics across 20 schools within our trust, helping to shape the education of over 1,000 students.

I graduated from the University of Exeter with a degree in Economics and Finance before completing a Master`s degree in Educational Leadership. Prior to teaching, I worked in investment banking and corporate finance, giving me valuable real-world experience that I bring into my lessons. I achieved A* grades in both Economics and Business at A Level and have now spent over a decade helping students achieve their academic goals through tutoring.

Availability: Anytime - I will try to work around your arrangements! However, I do work full-time within a school, so I cannot do weekdays during the day in term times.

Experience: I have over ten years of tutoring experience alongside my classroom teaching career, working with students of all abilities from those needing to build confidence through to those aiming for the highest grades. As a Head of Department and Trust-wide Economics Lead, I spend every day thinking about how students learn most effectively and how to help them achieve excellent outcomes.

Many of my students go on to exceed their predicted grades, with improvements of two grades being common. I have helped students move from E grades to A grades, and from struggling with core concepts to becoming confident and independent learners. My experience as a classroom teacher allows me to quickly identify misconceptions and target the areas that will make the biggest difference to progress.

My tutoring style is calm, supportive and highly focused on results. I believe students perform best when they genuinely understand a topic rather than simply memorising methods. One of the most rewarding things I hear is, "It finally makes sense now!" and helping students reach those lightbulb moments is something I genuinely enjoy.

Every lesson is tailored to the individual student. Some need support filling knowledge gaps, whilst others need help refining exam technique and maximising marks. Alongside building subject knowledge, I place a strong emphasis on exam skills, confidence and applying learning to real-world situations, helping students not only improve their grades but also develop a deeper understanding of the subject.
