Information about Patrick
Maths GCSE student needing motivation? I`m particularly good at motivating GCSE Maths students who have potential but struggling to realise it. Both those for whom Maths is their weak subject and those who live and breathe it.
Two challenges that I aim to overcome:
"How to get a student to avoid making simple errors" and
"Maths may not be your best subject but let`s make sure it`s not a problem for you!"
Having studied Physics at Uni, and got A* Physics at A level, I am also very capable of supporting Physics students up to A Level.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I`ve had several varied careers since finishing at Uni including Laboratory Engineer, Product Design & Install, Accountancy, and IT Developer and Trainer (for the past 25 years). So, I have broad life experience which I draw on in motivating students, with my experience as a Trainer being particularly relevant to being a Tutor.
I`ve been a Maths tutor from primary up to A levels since the start of 2020. Mostly face to face but about a third of my students are online.

Patrick is a fantastic tutor. My daughter has been really struggling with her Maths, but the tutor sessions she already has completed with Patrick are already paying dividends. Patrick is extremely patient, but he is also willing to push my daughter to make sure that she is reaching her potential. After getting a fairly poor school report her confidence with Maths has taken a huge dent, but with the tutor sessions she has already had she is starting to feel more confident and happier with the topic areas covered. She had maths at school yesterday and said that some of the material she covered came up in her lesson and she actually understood it! It is the first time she has come home saying she was happy with a maths lesson. He also sets her homework - which is fantastic, and this has really helped extend and consolidate her learning.

Yes Patrick was patient and worked hard to explain everything to my daughter, he marked a paper that Holly had done and spent time marking the paper and leaving a explanation, and suggested she reprinted the paper to practice. Regards Sue

Patrick is a wonderful tutor. He is attentive to the student`s needs. He is very down to earth and approachable. Patrick cares about the students and wants to ensure they get the best from lessons. He is keen to know which areas can be supported and where the focus exactly needs to be. I am very pleased with the tuition he is providing for my son. I can already see improvements and an increased confidence with him.
