Mathematics Teacher, Head of Year 8 and 9 and DSL. I completed my PGCE in Secondary Mathematics at University of Oxford. Mathematics Graduate specialising in A-level, GCSE and KS3 Mathematics with over 10 years experience tutoring.
I have a patient and calm approach to teaching and focus on explaining mathematical concepts in an understandable manner, prompting students to try for themselves instead of providing immediate solutions.
I have a strong grasp of methods required to learn, exam technique and how best to lay out your work for the examiner. I believe all of my students should aim for the highest grade possible. I will aim to identify and improve on students’ weaknesses before applying the finishing touches closer to the time of the exam.
Maths is a scary subject for many people who cringe at the thought of it. However, with understanding and practice it can open up a range of abilities we would not even know we had! From studying Mathematics my whole life, I understand the importance a good mentor can play in learning. I enjoy tutoring as I am inspired by helping and motivating the students I teach.
Although I do provide some paper materials, I will do work from students’ own textbooks. Some material may be sent via email.
I am currently only available for online lessons.
Availability: Generally weekday evenings and weekends.

If you wish to book a group lesson (for 2 or more students) my rate is £20 per hour per student for all levels.

This is the first time I have ever used this site and have ever looked for a Maths tutor. When I saw Aaran`s profile he stood out amongst all others because his academic achievements exemplified him as a motivated and dedicated student. In addition to this, his promising reviews enabled me to make a decision to choose him as my tutor seeing that he had helped students in the past to get the grades they needed to achieve, but more so, the fact that he studies Maths at University and did so for his A-Levels. Being in my last year of Sixth Form juggling 4 A-Levels, one being Maths, the slightest help was what I needed to clear up any misunderstandings I had in my course. From my first lesson I could tell that Aaran, apart from being a very accommodating and welcoming tutor, his main priority was getting me to a situation where I was exam confident and understood the fundamental ideas behind tricky worded maths questions. Aaran made me confident in an area that I found very difficult and ended up going to school the next day understanding that area with confidence and being able to help out my classmates. Aaran has always pushed me to aim for my potential and beyond, aiming for me to achieve an A/A* in my exam. He is very patient and will always try to accomodate your preferred ways of learning so he can teach you and help you in the best way possible. I really recommend him :)

Aaran is tutoring my 16 year old son. Aaran communicates very well - he is always punctual, well presented and my son said he is learning from the sessions. We can highly recommend Aaran.
