I am an experienced secondary and post 16 science teacher as well as a current head of year working in a secondary school in london. I hold a pgce in secondary science as well as a BSC Hons in zoological sciences.

Experience: I have been teaching for 10 years and hold experience in teaching gcse/ a-level biology and chemistry. I have taught via OCR, edexcel and AQA exam boards. I use strategies involving looking at exam techniques and get students to understand what the exam questions are asking for when they respond. I tend to focus on literacy as well as numeracy skills in my lessons. I have a track record of tutoring an a-level student and increased their grade from a D to an A* within a space of 2 months. Most recently I have had students achieve double grade 9`s in their double award GCSEs.
I currently work for a school which is in the top 5% gcse results in the country (The results being their first set) this year. The science departmemt I teach in had over a "75 per cent of students achieved a good grade in science with more than a quarter of these grades at 9-7" (The Times, 2018).
