Information about James
I am a teacher with seventeen years experience in a number of top English private schools. I tutor English, English as a Foreign Language, Latin and Mandarin Chinese. My pupils and students have achieved excellent results and I am very patient.
I am a graduate in Mandarin Chinese from Leeds University and also have a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. I hold a DBS enhanced certificate.
Availability: I am available most weekdays, evenings and at weekends.

Experience: James is a tutor and education consultant. Formerly Senior Master at one of London’s leading independent preparatory schools, James has been Head of Classics and has taught Latin, English, Mandarin Chinese and humanities at a number of top independent schools. A Mandarin Chinese speaker, he is a published author having written for more than thirty publications including the Times, Independent and Guardian and has authored books for the Economist Intelligence Unit and Financial Times Business Information. He has also published numerous management and business related reports on a published and bespoke basis.
Specialities: Tuition in English, Latin, Mandarin and the Arts subjects. GCSE, Early Years, 11+, ISEB Common Entrance 13+ and scholarships for Independent Schools. Case studies and references on request.

James is kind and made M feel at ease even though she is quite a nervous student. M liked him and enjoyed her lessons. James found interesting tasks to engage her to encourage her speak and improve her English. We were very pleased.

James has provided my 9 year old with three sessions of Mandarin so far. My son really enjoys them and has learned a lot in a fun way. I would definitely recommend James who is experienced, knowledgeable, adaptable, reliable and enthusiastic.
