I gained three grade As in A-Level French, German and Latin and went on to read French and German Joint Honours at the University of Oxford.

Having lived and/or worked in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, I teach my students genuine French and German phrases and idioms, rather than accepting literal translations of English phrases. I often hear myself saying; "Well, I understand what you mean, but a German would never say that." Unfortunately, idioms just have to be learnt as one goes along, over time.

Experience: I taught English Language in three schools in the Principality of Liechtenstein.

I am now giving private lessons in English, French and German - tailoring these very much to suit the needs of the individual. Seeing the massive progress the students make after just one or two lessons is very exciting and rewarding.
