I am an experienced and enthusiastic geography teacher, based in Sheffield. I am able to deliver geography lessons to all key stages due to my expertise and experience. I will offer sessions that will benefit students, through planning and delivering bespoke revision sessions and sharing revision resources.

My knowledge and love for my subject allows me to deliver geography content in an accessible way for pupils to gain an in depth understanding and passion for the subject. I have been fortunate enough to do a lot of travelling and try to incorporate this into my explanations to allow pupils to embed that knowledge and remember the content or process long term and be able to apply it.

I also believe repetition and re-visiting content is key. The current Geography GCSE Curriculum is extremely content heavy and requires pupils to learn and understand a variety of case studies for almost every topic, something which cannot be revised and covered weeks before the exams. I can offer revision techniques and resources to allow students to use and adapt to best suit their learning style so by the summer they will feel prepared and confident to sit their Geography exam.

Availability: Monday - Friday (evenings / after school)

Experience: I studied at the University of Liverpool where I gained my BSc Geography Degree (upper second-class honours) and went on to undertake my PGDE at the University of Sheffield.

I have gained a lot of experience during my two years of teaching, working in and training in a range of schools, in and around the Sheffield area. This experience has allowed me to become a well rounded Geography Teacher, able to support and tutor all abilities. As an NQT I have been exposed to all key stages and was responsible for a Y11 class. Last summer, all of my Y11`s met and exceeded their target grades, all graded between A*-C / 9-4. I have also had experience in teaching A-level through my most recent role as a Teacher of Geography in Gwynedd and volunteering at a sixth form college in Liverpool as a Geography Mentor. I have taught through various exam boards during my time as a teacher such as AQA, Edexcel and WJEC. I have also been responsible for writing mock exams and creating mark schemes, thus I am familiar with how examiners think and where students easily lose marks.

Since my NQT year I have done supply work in and around North Wales. More recently I have worked as a Geography teacher at one of the top schools in Gwynedd, teaching all key stages. I am currently teaching at a school in West Yorkshire after securing a permanent role and will be strictly teaching geography as a subject specialist to KS3 and KS4 pupils.
