I have extensive experience of tutoring English as a foreign language abroad, in India and in China, as well as in the UK. I have experience ranging from one-to-one tuition to a class of around thirty students and experience teaching ages 5 to 60. I find that teaching is hugely rewarding work and that I am always learning a lot from it. I am patient and calm in my teaching method but also try to ensure that there is an element of challenge so that the student is always progressing and improving the skills that they have. I am able to explain subjects clearly and precisely, and break down information so that it can be presented in a way that allows the student not just to learn it by rote but to actually grasp and understanding of the subject which they can take ownership of. I am aware that every student is different and that different learning styles benefit people in different ways, so I try to include as many methods of learning as possible whilst catering to the strengths of the particular student. I have an excellent academic track record with 9 A-star grade GCSEs, 5 A-grade A-Levels and a First Class Honours Degree in Chinese (BA) from the University of Leeds.

Availability: I am normally available during the mornings and afternoons Monday-Friday, and evenings at the weekend. However, I can be flexible and will consider tutoring at any time so feel free to get in touch even if those times do not match yours.

Experience: More than 3 years of tutoring experience in the UK, China and India. I have considerable experience doing one-to-one tuition as well as group tuition. I have experience teaching people from various different backgrounds and ages, including students from China, India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Germany, Poland and Romania. I have worked with various tuition companies and institutions including Macmillan, TwoSigmas, Fleet Tutors, Chinabridge and Eton College.
