I am a kind and patient English tutor who takes a friendly and pastoral approach to learning. I lead my classes with enthusiastic knowledge to inspire and uplift my students. I have a BA in English literature, an MA in creative writing and over 10 years’ experience as a tutor. I take a friendly, personal, and pastoral approach to learning, recognising the needs of each student as an individual first and foremost. I work closely with pupils to tailor their sessions, ensuring that they receive a memorable and effective learning experience which is fun and engaging. My sessions are carefully designed to target specific areas of weakness in order for students to succeed with their classwork and eventual exams.

I have been working as a specialist English tutor since 2012. Between 2012-2018, I gained vast experience working for two large national apprenticeship providers where I delivered English GCSE and Functional skills to students with a broad variety of different learning and language needs. I have been self-employed since 2018 and have worked individually with a large number of clients since then. I am empathetic and approachable, and endeavour to build strong relationships with all of my students. I am passionate about the power of language and literature, and I lead my classes with enthusiastic knowledge with the hope to inspire my students to fall in love with a subject that they may feel disengaged from. Experience: From 2012-2018, I gained vast experience within the further education training sector. In my position as an English GCSE and functional skills tutor at a popular sports college, I went through two Ofsted inspections where the college I worked for were classified as `Outstanding` after several lesson observations. I have also taught English to adults on work based learning programmes, supporting English as part of a wider apprenticeship. In these roles, I gained experience supporting second language speakers and learners who have specific learning needs. I have been a self-employed English tutor full time for the past 4 years and I have never looked back. Please see an outline of my previous roles below:
