Hi there! I recently graduated from UCL with a First Class Honours in the Master`s of Pharmacy and am currently working as a Hospital Pharmacist. Whilst working full-time, I`m also undertaking a post-grad diploma at UCL. Prior to this, I studied Further Maths, Maths, Biology and Chemistry for my AS and A levels at a North London private school where I had achieved A*s and an A respectively. Throughout my studies I consistently achieved some of the highest marks in Maths in my year group besides attaining Silver/ Gold and even Best in Year awards for the UKMT Maths challenges. I was also frequently selected to partake in maths team competitions against other grammar/ private schools, such as in the 2016-17 UKMT Team Maths Challenge held at the City of London School for Boys and Hans Woyda. I have collated a broad range of useful techniques that I would love to share with my students.

My educational background of studying at an independent school and having successfully undertaken several entrance exams for some of London`s top grammar/ private schools have enabled me to attain valuable experience with navigating the 11+ entrance examinations, with special focus on Mathematics.

I was also a Maths and English tutor at Kumon for 4 years where I supported and taught children from different backgrounds with varying capabilities and helped facilitate the award ceremonies.

Prior to each lesson/ at the start of your tutoring programme I will create a personalised schedule of topics to be covered (this can be online in an interactive format that can be edited by myself and my student and/or their parent(s), or paper-based as preferred) and end of topic quizzes to help consolidate material. This will ensure that each pupil is able to confidently and independently tackle a given challenging topic before moving onto the next subject area. I will also give a baseline assessment during the first lesson or so to determine the student`s current strengths and weaknesses.

In addition, for English, I will give spelling tests each lesson as well as a `vocabulary` of the day to help the student improve their sophistication in terms of writing. I will also provide a test after going through a few related topics and detailed feedback ensuring that their targets from previous lessons are incorporated into the marking criteria. This has worked really well with other 1-to-1 students and has helped them improve their writing immensely within a short span of time.

I will also consistently provide thorough feedback to parents and pupils on academic targets that I have identified with the pupil.

I ensure to use a unique, individualised teaching approach based on each student`s learning needs, methods and goals.

Experience: I have taught Maths and English to children of various ages and abilities at Kumon over a 4-year period.

Moreover, I have been undertaking 1-to-1 Maths and English tuition over half a decade spanning KS1 to GCSE, and have helped my students greatly improve their grades and engagement with this subject. Some of my students had, for the first time, progressed into their year`s top sets for Maths and achieved full marks and/ or the highest exam grades in their class as a result of my teaching and support (besides their effort and determination of course!). Many had finally understood and excelled at concepts they previously found extremely challenging.
