Information about Louise
As a friendly, proactive and approachable practitioner, I have an utmost desire to go above and beyond what is simply expected of a teacher. For all of my students I am more than willing to go the extra mile.
As a primary school teacher I love to encourage imagination and innovation. I aim to deliver thought-provoking, academic lessons that are engaging and fun it is these lessons where my students learn more, and learning sticks.
Lessons have involved enlisting my class as spies, sending them on maths missions and working together to defeat Dr Evil. Delivering top secret briefings each morning incited a real eagerness for maths. I have transformed my classroom into a thought-provoking Stone Age cave, a scene from the Wild West and a crime scene investigation, amongst others. I feel very strongly about ensuring their time with me is enriched so my students can enjoy learning and achieving.
This approach to learning has proved to be highly successful and, more often than not, my students exceed rather than meet their initial expectations.
Alongside teaching full time I have tutored privately for over five years specialising in English and mathematics. By tutoring from primary through to adult learners, I am acutely aware of how learning transitions - as well as how to deliver thought-provoking and memorable lessons to every learner.
Leaving university with a First Class Honours degree in Primary Education enabled me to approach teaching with confidence. For me, university really enriched my practice. It acted as a constant reminder of why teaching is such a rewarding, exciting and gratifying vocation.
I have extremely high expectations which encompass all learners, and feedback from my colleagues, students and mentors has illustrated my ability to deliver outstanding and creative lessons.
