Secondary school teacher of English Language and Literature up to GCSE level. Specialist in EAL (English as an Additional Language), ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages)and EFL (English as a Foreign Language). As a fluent French, Spanish and Catalan speaker, I am also able to provide booster classes in these three languages, especially in speaking and listening skills. Currently working as a GCSE English Language lecturer at Newcastle-Under-Lyme College, specializing in achieving exam success on one-year GCSE English Language retake courses. Our departmental success rate rose in August 2018 from 23% to 42%.

Availability: Weekdays after 6pm and weekend mornings and afternoons.

Experience: I have worked in education for 29 years: for 16 years as a teacher of English as a Foreign Language; for 8 years as a teacher of ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) for adults and young learners (16-19 year olds)in a college of Further Education; for 5 years as a teacher of English Language and Literature at Secondary level (Key Stage 3 and 4) and Post-16 (FE).

From 1990 to 2006 I lived and worked in Barcelona, where I became fluent in spoken and written Spanish and Catalan. I also passed exams in Spanish equivalent to English Proficiency.
