I am currently an English teacher with over 6 years experience and have previously been the Whole School Literacy Coordinator at Worthing High School.

I have a degree in English Language and a PGCE degree in teaching secondary English. I have also attained a CELTA certificate, from Cambridge University, in teaching English as a foreign language.

I have taught students of many different abilities and ages.

I currently teach all years from 7 to 11 and run a year 11 intervention group aimed at targeting specific areas of exam technique and practice. This, along with mock exam marking, has meant that I have gained an extensive knowledge of the GCSE exam criteria and ways in which to meet it.

In my role as Literacy Coordinator I have put in place and continue to nurture many whole school initiatives to ensure the progression of literacy skills for all students.

I run differentiated literacy interventions that focus on the basic skills needed for fluency in reading and writing for students working at KS1, 2 and 3 levels.

I work closely with the Inclusion department and SEN teachers to ensure the individual needs of all students are met within these intervention sessions.
