I have been educated to MA level and have a PGCE as well as a CRB checkJuly 2006 to present. I currently work as a checkout assistant at Sainsbury’s Leicester North which has helped me to communicate with a wide variety of people. I work as a life model at DMU University of Leicester and local art groups. I also teach life drawing at stag and hen events. I am an artist and I sell my work at exhibitions in art galleries and online.

Experience: Over the last few years I have been a study skills assistant at DMU Loughborough University Leicester University and Hinckley college via Randstad and Clear Links. This necessitates supporting students with undergraduate and postgraduate studies. This includes helping them plan their work, use academic language and evaluate their learning. It also requires me to accommodate their real lives and be flexible in my approach. Many of the students have additional needs such as Dyslexia Autism and Asperger`s. I am keen to help them work with theirs to excel academically as well as the wider University experience. Prior to this I was a learning support assistant at Leicester College and DMU via “LSA”. This entails supporting students with a range of academic social emotional and physical needs. This has been both in the classroom and on college trips. The role has necessitated my being flexible in terms of the hours I take on and having a person centered approach.
