Information about Carol
After successfully tutoring my own child (and help her move from set 3 to set 1), I decided to go into teaching. I completed a PGCE secondary Maths in 2021 and have been teaching in a local secondary school since then.
I hold a first degree in Chemistry from the University of Barcelona, and I completed postgraduate courses in the UK (MSc-University of London, DPhil-University of Oxford).
I have always worked in chemical research until I decided to move into secondary school education after helping my own child and enjoying teaching Maths.
Availability: Available weekdays: afternoons and evenings. I prefer to teach at home in Lewes or online but will consider up to 5 miles commute.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I hold a PGCE in secondary maths and I teach Maths to secondary school pupils, from year 7 to year 11. I am up to date with school methods of teaching Mathematics - which has changed significantly over the years, and with the resources that work best for students.

My son was failing maths (border of grades 3 and 4) and needed help with preparation for GCSE exams. I started looking for a tutor and came across Carols profile on Tutohunt. Carol didnt have many reviews at that time but because I wanted someone local I thought well give her a chance. I soon found out that it was a great decision and stick with her for the next year and a half. My son really enjoyed sessions with Carol. She was very thorough and took careful measures in helping him to grasp concepts that he had had problems with. Based on the school assessments results and my sons feedback she planned the sessions the way to concentrate on his weakest areas. She had also been very flexible and, whenever needed, was happy to change the time, day or even way of learning from face-to-face to online classes. I cant thank Carol enough for helping my son. His maths GCSE result proves best how wonderful tutor she is. He got grade 5 in maths foundation which is the highest grade he could get!!! Well don to both Carol and my son 👏;🏼;👏;🏼;👏;🏼;
